Welcome to the 22nd issue of the newsletter about your donor communications. I'm glad you're here, Reader! Happy USA Thanksgiving! In this issue, I've included a #GivingTuesday thank you template. 🎁

Wednesday, November 24, 2021

I'm going to keep it short today because, well, Thanksgiving.

If you're in the U.S., you might be rushing around like a turkey with your head cut off, trying to get a head start on cooking.

I'm going to be hosting 15 people for dinner tomorrow. With the pandemic messing up last year's holidays, I feel out of practice for hosting a bigger get-together. πŸ₯΄

But I've been trying out new recipes like this one for stuffing (needs a Granny Smith apple and less butter) and this one for roasted sweet potatoes (mmm!).

Unfortunately, I have no tips on turkeys. My husband Brett and I are pescatarians, but somehow I'll rig up a turkey for the poultry eaters.

Whether you're spending the day with family or curled up watching Netflix, I wish you a wonderful holiday.

And if you're outside the U.S., I wish you a blissful and peaceful Thursday!

A #GivingTuesday Thank You Email Template

Be ready to say THANK YOU to all the wonderful people who will make a gift on #GivingTuesday. And if you are not participating in this giving day, you can modify this template for any gift at any time.

πŸ“§ πŸ’Œ πŸ“§ πŸ’Œ πŸ“§

SUBJECT: You've done something AMAZING!

Dear <donor's name>,

What would the <children, dogs, river, park, etc.> do without you?

Thank heavens I'll never know because when I asked for your help on #GivingTuesday, you wholeheartedly said, "YES!"

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for your gift of <$gift amount>. Your donation will go straight to work <remind them how their gift will be used>.

Thanks to you, we raised <$total amount> in just 24 hours!

Can you picture it now? <Describe aspirational goals/vision to reinforce the donor's impact.>

Yes, you are doing that, <donor's name>!

I will update you soon on all the wonderful things happening at <name of org> because of caring people like you.

If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to contact me at <signer's email address>. I look forward to hearing from you.

Gratefully,

<signer>

P.S. <Use the PS to further connect with the donor. Ideas: invite them to visit your facility, read a popular blog post on your website, watch a video of yours, tease an upcoming event, or just remind them how wonderful they are.>
